Question: Is SmartCom Internet easy to use for new or inexperienced users?

Answer: SmartCom Internet isn't structured like America Online or other portal type internet providers. Rather, we simply provide you with an internet connection and then let you use the tools that you need to get the most out of your internet connection. There's no learning curve involved and no searching around to figure out where media or content is placed. Once a technician has assisted you in configuring your computer for internet use, getting connected is as simple as double-clicking!

Question: What is instant messaging and can I use it with SmartCom internet service?

Answer: Instant messaging is the ability to send messages in real-time to other people on the internet, regardless of their location. Popular messenger software includes AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and ICQ.  All of these messenger services are 100% compatible with SmartCom's internet service, and we even offer them for download on our Downloads page!

Answer: Definitely! All you need to know is the mail server address or web mail location of your other e-mail accounts and you can access them without any problem.

Question: Are there any additional charges or long distance charges for using SmartCom Internet's dial-up service?

Answer: No. SmartCom's $9.95/mo flat rate is all that you'll be charged on your monthly bill. Long distance charges do not apply as we have local numbers available in all areas where we offer service. Question: Can I use a Mac / Unix / Linux / Novell operating system with SmartCom Internet's dial-up service?

Answer: Yes. As long as your operating system supports TCP/IP protocols, then you won't have any trouble connecting to and using SmartCom's internet service.

Question: Does anyone at SmartCom have access to my e-mails?

Answer:  No. Technical support staff and employees do not have access to customer e-mails, unless there are special circumstances in which a customer may need assistance with their e-mail account.

Question: Can I use the server space included with my SmartCom dial-up account to create a web page for my business?

Answer: No. SmartCom Internet provides dial-up users with ten megabytes of web server storage space for personal web pages only. If your are interested in creating a web page for your business, take a look at our web hosting service which is aimed at providing business-class hosting services to our customers.

Question: Can I use my SmartCom Internet dial-up account to send out mass e-mails?

Answer: No. SmartCom Internet does not in any way, shape or form condone spamming for any reason. If a customer is found guilty of spamming, SmartCom Internet reserves the right to terminate that customer's dial-up account without notice and without refund.

Question: How do I sign up?

Answer: It's very easy!  You can either call us at 888-302-1125 and sign up over the phone with a major credit card, visit on the web and sign up via our Online Signup Page, or visit any Advanced Paging retail location for an application!
