SmartCom Internet maintains a fully redundant, enterprise class network, end to end.
Edge and Core Infrastructure Our network is powered by redundant Cisco 7206VXR, Cisco 7606 routers and Extreme Networks series switches. All of our edge and core equipment is interconnected in a full network mesh to provide maximum redundancy and stability. Internally, our network operates at 10Gb/sec. We maintain an MPLS backbone from our Provider Edge (facing Customers) to our Core Network.
Connectivity We maintain our own direct fiber connection to PCCW, Cogent and Hurricane Electric and use BGP4 Routing Protocol for redundancy. With the INERNAP Flow Control Platform (FCP-500), Web can guarantee predictable performance to all customers by routing around more than 90% of the failures and congestion in the middle mile, reducing latency by an average of 35% and assuring network uptime. Using the INTERNAP's intelligent business policies, these route changes can be automated, eliminating costly, manual BGP grooming processes and expensive specialized technicians.
Power We maintain Dual DC Power Plants for all our Cisco Routers and Extreme Networks Switches. We maintain Dual Diesel Generators for Power Backup to our Building Data Center.
Monitoring All critical network infrastructure is monitored on 60 second intervals, both internally and externally to our network. Any potential issues with our network infrastructure are immediately escalated to company management.
